Produced in conjunction with Moguldom Studios, the 4-episode series will air on StyleBlazer.com, a fast-growing Moguldom website which delivers unique and fashion-forward online content for the hip and trendy African- American woman. Today’s premiere episode features Mikki Taylor, the former Beauty & Cover Director and current Editor-at-Large at ESSENCE Magazine, author of Commander in Chic, and founder of Mikki Taylor Enterprises.
“Behind every fashion and beauty success story is a lot of hard work, determination, and inspiration,” said Geo Hagan, Managing Editor of StyleBlazer.com. “We’re excited to take viewers behind the scenes to see exactly what these pioneering women did to end up looking so good, while helping so many others look good at the same time. ‘How I Made It’ is a must-see for anyone who cares about fashion, beauty, and the strong, talented women who define today’s best looks.”

“How I Made It” continues a highly successful online video initiative which has already brought two popular original series to Moguldom’s MadameNoire.com site, “Mommy in Chief” and “She’s the Boss,” each produced in conjunction with Moduldom Studios. “We’re thrilled to be working with StyleBlazer to create ‘How I Made It,’” said Liz Burr, Managing Director, Moguldom Studios. “Fans of our last two series are already familiar with the high production value and high-quality entertainment Moguldom Studios is becoming known for. The unique visual appeal of the fashion and beauty industry, and the fascinating personalities, who make it all happen, will make for truly compelling and memorable viewing. I can’t wait for the episodes to air, and I know our viewers feel the same way.”

Karyn Parsons Hosts 12-Episode Web Show on the Life of Today’s Modern Moms

October 17, 2011 – New York, NY – Moguldom Media Group, the leading digital media company that develops premium online publishing brands serving African-American audiences, has continued its successful online video initiative with the premiere of “Mommy in Chief,” an original web series sponsored by Tide® that explores the ups, downs, and everything in between of being a modern mom. “Mommy in Chief” offers a fun, inspiring, and practical take on parenting for mothers with young school-aged children. The 12-episode series is hosted by Karyn Parsons, best known for her role as Hilary Banks on the hit 90s sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” Viewers can watch the series on the Madame Noire website at http://madamenoire.com/mommyinchief.

With 1 million unique visitors, MadameNoire.com is the fastest-growing lifestyle brand and premier digital destination for savvy, upwardly mobile African-American women, offering a balanced mix of news, lifestyle, entertainment, and business coverage tailored to their interests and perspectives. Earlier this year, MadameNoire launched “She’s the Boss,” an original web series produced with Moguldom Studios focused on the insights and experiences of leading African-American women entrepreneurs and executives. Now, “Mommy in Chief” turns the camera toward leaders of another kind: the modern moms who juggle work, kids, and husband in the course of a full day.

Produced in conjunction with Moguldom Studios, the video division of Moguldom Media Group launched in October 2010, “Mommy in Chief” reflects the experiences and perspectives of today’s do-it-all moms: college-educated, career-oriented (even if she’s staying home with the kids for now), strong relationships with her friends and family, and interested in making healthy lifestyle choices for herself and her family. Karyn Parsons draws on relatable stories from her own life and the insights of expert guests in informative, free-ranging discussions of the latest issues and trends in parenting—as well as classic parenting perils familiar to moms throughout the ages.

Social media integration will build a community of viewers, mommybloggers, and experts around “Mommy in Chief” to participate in the conversation and provide their own views on the topics at hand. The official Twitter hashtag for the show is #MommyInChief, and viewers can also join the action on Madame Noire’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/MadameNoire.

“We all know it’s moms who really run the world,” said Judene Walden, EVP, Moguldom Women. “They keep the house together, nurture the kids—and the husbands, too—and get the family ready to face the day, and then they’re off to take care of their own business, whether at work or on the stay-at-home circuit. ‘Mommy in Chief’ gives these strong women a welcome moment of perspective. It’s like running into a good friend at the coffee shop in the middle of a busy day: you’ve only got a few minutes, so you make it good, and you leave energized to take on the next urgent mom challenge.”

“We’re excited to build on the success we’ve achieved with ‘She’s the Boss’ by turning our attention to a new, equally rich and interesting facet of the life of today’s women,” said Liz Burr, Managing Director of Moguldom Studios. “‘Mommy in Chief’ will give hard-working moms an engaging mix of useful advice, shared experiences, and much-needed comic relief with the unique sensibility they can only get from Moguldom Studios.”

Moguldom Mobile Creates the Leading Gateway for Advertisers to Reach African Americans via Mobile across Its Entire Portfolio of Online Destinations

June 13, 2011 – NEW YORK, NY – Moguldom Media Group, an innovative new media company, today announced Moguldom Mobile, a new division that makes the entire Moguldom portfolio of premier digital destinations available via both iPhone and Android mobile apps. In addition to providing consumers with mobile experiences optimized for their favorite devices, Moguldom Mobile will provide the leading mobile gateway for advertisers seeking to reach African Americans at scale. Later this year, the Moguldom Mobile platform will be opened to third-party publishers to allow them to monetize their own mobile websites with high-impact rich media ads and cross-platform app development. Moguldom also announced the appointment of Alicia Walker, most recently its Social Media and Analytics Manager, as Managing Director of Moguldom Mobile.

Moguldom Mobile extends and enhances the strong performance Moguldom has already achieved through its mobile websites; the company currently reaches more than 3 million monthly unique visitors on mobile in aggregate, serving more than over 15 million mobile pageviews per month. For advertisers, Moguldom Mobile unlocks the full potential of the mobile channel to reach urban consumers, for whom mobile devices play an especially prominent part in the online experience. A recent report by Horowitz Associates has found that African Americans outpace the rest of the market in usage of mobile video, while a July 2010 poll by the Pew Research Center found that 51 percent of Hispanics and 46 percent of African Americans use their phones to access the Internet, compared with 33 percent of whites.

Moguldom Mobile apps are now available, optimized for iPhone and Android, for Moguldom properties including Bossip.com, its flagship property; 24Wired.TV, providing unique licensed and original video content and web TV, The Atlanta Post, covering African-American business, media and politics; Hip-Hop Wired, a hip-hop news, culture and lifestyle destination; BossipTwitter, dedicated to aggregating celebrity tweets; and StyleBlazer, a site for fashion-forward African American women. Apps optimized for the iPad will follow in the third quarter.

To help advertisers achieve maximum impact, Moguldom Mobile will leverage extensive creative and technical capabilities to develop highly engaging creative units in-house for preferred clients, including full page mobile and mobile video interstitial units across IPhone, Android, and iPad devices. By opening its platform to other African American-focused premium publishers later this year, Moguldom Mobile will enable these companies to quickly and easily develop cross-platform apps to increase their own mobile revenue.

Alicia Walker, Managing Director of Moguldom Media, has worked with Moguldom for more than two years in areas including ad trafficking, social media, and traffic analytics and strategy. As Social Media and Analytics Manager, she managed a team of six and helped double Moguldom’s aggregate social reach on Twitter and Facebook over the last six months. She will now lead the company’s mobile strategy, develop its monetization and technology platform, and recruit new publishers to join Moguldom Mobile. Said Walker, “Until now, there has been no platform allowing advertisers to efficiently reach African Americans at scale on mobile platforms such as iPad, IPhone, and Android. Moguldom Mobile provides the answer to that problem, capitalizing on this clear and growing market opportunity.”

Said Marve Frazier, Chief Creative Officer of Moguldom Media Group, “We entered 2011 with a clear strategy we call Triple Threat plus Scale, a response to the demand in this dynamic marketplace for a cross-platform, high impact and efficient medium to reach African Americans at scale. Our focus on building out video, social, and mobile, while adding scale across every channel, has proven to be a hit with our visitors and advertisers alike. We look forward to helping our advertisers effectively reach African Americans on mobile and helping third party African American-focused publishers develop and execute a comprehensive mobile strategy.”

About Moguldom Media Group

Moguldom Media Group is the world’s largest network of owned and operated digital brands focusing on African Americans as measured by comScore online reach. Company credits a keen focus on “owning our scale” and investing in higher margin “content ownership”

June 9, 2011 – New York, NY – Moguldom Media Group, the leading digital media company that develops premium online publishing brands serving African American audiences, today announced that it has become the clear leader in African American digital media. The company is now the world’s largest network of owned and operated websites addressing African Americans (comScore). At the same time, individual Moguldom properties now outperform traditional publishing brands in the space; for example, Moguldom’s MadameNoire.com which is less than a year old, has more unique visitors and a higher average household income than Time Warner’s Essence.com. Bossip.com, Moguldom’s flagship property, has more unique visitors than Viacom’s BET.com and Interactive One’s BlackPlanet.com.

Moguldom has risen rapidly to pass older competitors and assert a strong position as the leading digital media company serving African Americans—a demographic representing more than $1 trillion in total buying power (Nielsen) and attracting more than $2 billion in annual advertising spending. Unduplicated unique visitors within the Moguldom portfolio have increased over 50 percent over the past year to reaching 2.6 million (comScore). The company’s internal metrics show 5 million unique visitors and more than 75 million aggregate page views per month (Google Analytics). This tremendous scale in traffic is complemented by outstanding visitor engagement, as indicated by more than 4.7 average minutes per visit and 4.2 average monthly visits per visitor across the Moguldom Digital Network (comScore).

The quality and performance of the Moguldom portfolio result in part from the company’s core focus on ownership. Many large content networks actually consist of a group of independently owned websites assembled by an ad network, which must then split revenue with each of these sites. Moguldom is the sole owner of every site in its portfolio, allowing the company to scale more quickly and efficiently while keeping a greater share of the revenue these sites generate. With complete control over the sites and editorial content within its portfolio, Moguldom can also offer advertisers greater flexibility on integration and execution across video, mobile, and social platform.

Said Jamarlin Martin, Chairman and CEO of Moguldom Media Group, “It has always been our objective to give our audience something they can’t get from the older, fatigued African American media brands, and we’re thrilled to have achieved this so quickly and definitively. Our success is no accident. We began 2011 with a strategy called Triple Threat plus Scale, in which we expand our presence across video, social, and mobile to reach our audience wherever they go, while giving advertisers exceptional reach. Our advertising partners have given us strong positive feedback that our focus on innovation and execution is paying off and helping them capitalize on a ‘perfect storm’ of audience engagement.”

As part of the Triple Threat plus Scale strategy, Moguldom recently launched four new divisions to focus resources on key areas of growth: Moguldom Studios, producing original online video content; Moguldom Mobile, making the entire Moguldom portfolio available via mobile apps; Moguldom Social, extending the Moguldom strategy into social media; and Moguldom Women, providing premier digital destinations for savvy, upwardly mobile African American women. The company will soon expand further into sports, men’s lifestyle, and food and cooking.

About Moguldom Media Group

comScore Shows More Unique Visitors, Household Income, and Engagement than Competitors for Fastest-Growing African American Women’s Lifestyle Brand

June 8, 2011 – New York, NY – Moguldom Media Group, the leading digital media company that develops premium online publishing brands serving African American audiences, today announced that its MadameNoire.com property, the premier digital destination for savvy, upwardly mobile African American women, now outperforms every other brand in its category according to comScore results for May 2011. In addition to being the fastest-growing lifestyle brand for African American women, MadameNoire.com already serves more pages per visit than most women lifestyle brands, an indication of its highly engaged audience.

MadameNoire.com’s unique online content includes a balanced mix of news, lifestyle, entertainment, and business coverage from the perspective of African American women. MadameNoire.com has also launched a new online video program, “She’s the Boss,” co-produced with Moguldom Studios, which focuses on African American women entrepreneurs and business leaders. Clearly filling a need previously unmet by longer-running traditional competitors such as HelloBeautiful and Essence.com, MadameNoire has achieved tremendous growth. Still less than a year old, the site already reaches more than 1.1 million unique visitors and serves 10 million pageviews per month (Google Analytics). The most recent comScore results show performance that leaves every competitor far behind, including average household income between $75,000-$100,000 and over 910,000 unique visitors.

Said Demetria Irwin, Managing Editor of MadameNoire.com, “MadameNoire represents a fresh, authentic, and passionate voice for black women of the Michelle Obama generation and beyond. We have worked tirelessly and invested in premium content that captures the diversity of issues that confront today’s African American women. We also believe in entertaining them while they are on the site. Mainstream media organizations and slow-moving legacy African American media brands have neglected and under-invested in our audience, so we feel it’s essential for us to add sustainable value in the space.”

Judene Walden, recently hired as Executive Vice President of the Moguldom Women division, said, “The organic growth we have seen on MadameNoire has been phenomenal. The Moguldom approach is to ‘go hard or go home’ and it’s obviously paying off as we expand our portfolio of properties. We’re hungry and there is a lot of work to do, as we have very ambitious plans for positioning MadameNoire as the premiere African American Women’s lifestyle brand across video, mobile, social, and off-line events. Our recent success on MadameNoire is part of an overall triple-threat strategy for Moguldom to be the leading African American digital media company offering authentic and premium content at scale across mobile, video, and social.”
